Al Franken’s Book
I recently read Al Franken’s Book “LIES And The Lying Liars That Tell Them”. I thought the book made a lot of good points.
I felt that the overall tone of the book was angry, and it contained more foul langugage than I cared for. I am not someone who swears very often, and I found the frequency and application inappropriate.
I could have lived without the “Chickenhawk” section of the book.
I did run across an irony though. Al points out the misuse of endnotes in Ann Coulter’s book “Slander”. Among other things, he points out a mistake she made with the parentage of Evan Thomas in her book.
In her own article Ann Coulter tries to point out that Al Franken had made a distortion by omission:
“…without saying that he was Evan’s grandfather.”
In fact, in the one and only endnote in Al’s book, he mentions that Norman is Evan’s grandfather. Quite funny.
