Billy The Cat’s continuing adventures

Billy is not exactly a happy cat. After yesterday’s adventures with Lisa and the vet, he wasn’t in a great mood when I got home — he was pretty lethargic, and not very talkative, and a bit grumpy. Lisa and I visited him later in the evening. He seemed better, quite talkative, and hadn’t missed the litter box at all! He wasn’t so happy after we gave him his new medication, though. The pill wasn’t too bad — Lisa made, out of soft cat food, what she termed an “atomic meatball”. The half of a pill was buried in the middle of a bunch of food. He ate that up without complaint.

The liquid we had to give him was another story all together. Lisa had to inject it in his mouth while I held him while he was wrapped in a towel. He wasn’t pleased about that at all, and made his best efforts to escape the towel embrace. He was pretty annoyed immediately afterwards but after a few minutes, he warmed back up to us.

I got the impression he was having some gut pains as he would be sitting on my lap, purring away and then suddenly howl. After a few more minutes of that behavior, he went and sat on his blanket in the corner and howled periodically. Neither Lisa nor I felt good about that (a combination of guilt and sympathy). We left him for the evening.

In the morning, he was quite talkative and friendly, but had managed to get poop all over the place. He had diarrhea again, and had it on himself, and in all the various places he had been sleeping as well as the litter box. Lisa and I cleaned him and the room up, gave him his meds again, and headed out to work. I guess we will see how he is doing when we get home tonight. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, although that makes it really difficult to type, so I’ll just keep them mentally crossed.

At least Morgan’s Pink Eye is clearing up!
