Simon’s Lyrics from 1973 appropriate today…

Morgan and I were grooving to Paul Simon’s: “There Goes Rhymin’ Simon” this morning, on the way to school. He had heard me singing lyrics from “Was A Sunny Day” earlier this spring and attempted to sing along, so I bought the album so he could hear the original song. It is a good kid-oriented song, especially on a sunny day. After I dropped him off and I went on my way to work, I restarted the CD. It occurred to me while listening to “Kodachrome”, that the lyrics

“… everything looks worse in black and white …”

is appropriate in these election times as well as Simon’s recollections of the girls of his past.

It is important to remember that the majority of the issues debated/discussed/bantered about aren’t simply right or wrong. I was reading FactCheck.org yesterday. The site has criticisms of comments by both sides of the election. It is a good reminder that neither side of the Presidential race has exclusivity on correctness. People like Tammy (who claims to believe that Kerry is “evil”), would do well to read the material on the FactCheck.org site to gain a broader perspective.
