Ice and Tropical Breezes

Things are busy in the Newman household. This past weekend was no exception. We had a freezing rain incident. Ice everywhere. I mean everywhere, outside. Check out the view from the livingroom window during the storm.
Window or shower door?

Needless to say, it was slick outside. Lisa and I stayed inside that Saturday. It was really too cold to do much in the garage, so we watched all the TV shows we had recorded. We watched a couple of episodes of “24″, Lost, CSI, and I believe NYPD Blue. A pretty lazy day. They were all “ok”, nothing to write home about. I find it hard to suspend disbelief in “24″, and the timetable just doesn’t seem plausible.

I was a little nervous my drive to go get Morgan on Sunday, because of all the ice. Sunday morning, though, things started melting rapidly. I chipped the ice off the windshield and Lisa and I went out to breakfast at the Bread and Ink. We could have walked, but the sidewalks were in much worse shape ice-wise as compared to the roads. Afterwards, we had a stimulating romp through Fred Meyers.

The strange thing about it all was that it warmed up to record high temperatures during the week. People were walking around in shorts as the highs were in the mid 60’s.

These high temperatures mean that there isn’t much snow on the mountains. Our tulips are starting to come up, and we have a rose in bloom. Crazy!
