Surabaya On New Year’s Eve
Monday, January 5th, 2004Lisa and I ate at Surabaya on New Year’s Eve. It is in the place that the Compass Cafe used to occupy. Lisa and I both enjoyed the Compass for brunches, although Lisa’s parents were less than thrilled.
Surabaya serves indonesian food. Lisa had the pork loin, and I had the snapper that was the special at the time. Since it was New Year’s Eve, we were served complementary glasses of champagne.
The meals were delicious — we had to try each other’s because they smelled so good. The snapper was served on a banana leaf, and Lisa’s pork loin was served on a mound of other stuff. I can’t remember offhand.
We will return sometime when Morgan is with his father again, as I doubt Morgan would tolerate the food there.
